Assistant Director McEwan Graduates EMI’s Advanced Academy

Hamilton County Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency (EMHSA) Assistant Director Ryan McEwan recently graduated from FEMA’s National Emergency Management Advanced Academy at the Emergency Management Institute in Emmitsburg, MD. This training has provided McEwan with necessary tools and techniques to help lead Hamilton County EMHSA forward in the Agency’s mission for a more disaster resistant and resilient community.

McEwan demonstrated great dedication to this program, in the last year completing the four resident courses with three short distance learning sessions in the Advanced Academy including: A Survey of Advanced Concepts in Emergency Management, Assessment and Application of Professional Style in Emergency Management, Advanced Concepts and Issues in the Emergency Management Organization and Advanced Concepts and Issues in the Emergency Management Community and Profession. This rigorous course work required his completion of the full curriculum that provides the strategic level training and education in the essential skills and tools for emergency management professionals to lead dynamic and resilient programs.
