Flood Assistance & Safety Information

If you have been impacted by the recent flooding in Hamilton County, please be aware that there is flood assistance available, if needed. If you need help with flood cleanup, please contact the Red Cross at: 513-579-3045.

How to Properly Cleanup After a Flood

FREE Flood Cleanup Safety Classes

If you are a Hamilton County resident with access and functional needs or have low income status, there is a limited amount of financial assistance for flood recovery available through Hamilton County Job and Family Services.

 

If you are a resident of the City of Cincinnati, and have been impacted by the recent flooding, please visit: www.cincinnati-oh.gov/flood18 for information about the permitting process, safety tips, traffic information, etc. In addition, Cincinnati residents may submit service requests and report any flood damage to public property at 513-591-6000.

 

Sewer Backup

If you have experienced a sewer backup issue as a result of this flooding event, please call the Metropolitan Sewer District (MSD) at (513) 352-4900 or visit the Sewer Backup website.

Residents are also asked to report street flooding and clogged inlets to their local municipality.

 

Waste Management

If you are a Rumpke customer, Rumpke will collect up to or the equivalent of six 30 gallon trash cans under the following guidelines:

  • Wood must be cut in lengths smaller than 4 feet
  • Dry wall must be double-bagged or in a can
  • Bags/cans must weigh 50 pounds or less
  • Carpet must be rolled and tied in sections no longer than 4 feet

Customers may call ahead and schedule additional bulk items (1-800-828-8171).

As a reminder, Rumpke will not accept any of the following items:

  • Hazardous material
  • Liquids (including paint)
  • Tires
  • Items containing Freon
